<p>Chapter 1: Understanding the Gospel - The Holiness of God</p><p></p><p>God is holy man is sinful and only a perfect substitute can satisfy God's holy justice.</p><p></p><p>The Holiness of God</p><p>The Bible tells us that God is holy-completely pure perfect and without sin. His holiness sets Him apart from everything and everyone else.</p><p></p><p>Who is like unto thee O Lord among the gods? who is like thee glorious in holiness fearful in praises doing wonders? - Exodus 15:11</p><p>Holy holy holy is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. - Isaiah 6:3</p><p>Who shall not fear thee O Lord and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy... --Revelation 15: 4</p><p></p><p>God's holiness means He cannot tolerate sin. He does not overlook sin compromise with it or make exceptions. His holy nature demands justice.</p><p></p><p>The Sinfulness of Man</p><p>While God is holy we as human beings are sinful by nature and by choice. From the very beginning mankind has rebelled against God. Sin is not just bad behavior-it's falling short of God's perfect standard.</p><p></p><p>For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. - Romans 3:23</p><p>There is none righteous no not one. - Romans 3:10</p><p>Because God is just sin must be punished. The Bible makes it clear:</p><p>For the wages of sin is death... - Romans 6:23</p><p></p><p>This death is more than physical-it is eternal punishment enacted by God upon the unforgiven in hell. God doesn't cast people into hell out of cruelty but out of His holy justice because He must punish sin. God cast souls into hell according to Luke 12: 5 Fear Him(God) which after he hath killed hath power to CAST into HELL!</p><p></p><p></p>
