About the Author Dr Kallam Anji Reddy was born in 1941 at Tadepalli a small town in present-day Andhra Pradesh and completed his schooling in a neighbouring village. After graduating in chemistry from Guntur and in pharmaceutical technology from the University Department of Chemical Technology Bombay he earned his doctorate from the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune.Dr Kallam Anji Reddy started his career in the state-owned Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited Hyderabad in 1967. He founded Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Limited in 1984 and was its chairman till he passed away in 2013.He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2011 for his services to trade and industry.
