Upon my arrival at its headquarters in The Hague the Netherlands it was emerging from a period of internal strife and external challenges much as described in the book. Under the leadership of the newly appointed General Secretary a retired journalist of Uyghur descent I joined a small diverse team tasked with revitalizing the organization.
