Dr. Leena Merlin is an accomplished academic and journalist having served as an Assistant Professor and Sub-Editor at The Indian Express Desk. Her expertise includes U.S. nuclear strategy and policy in South Asia nuclear proliferation and security issues up to Pokhran II as well as the India-U.S. Nuclear Deal and U.S. nuclear policy under the Obama administration. She has participated in international seminars and conferences and edited numerous articles for international journals. Dr. Merlin holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History from Malabar Christian College Calicut where she received academic excellence awards. She completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Bhavan’s Rajendra Prasad Institute in 2001 earned an M.Phil in International Relations and Politics from Mahatma Gandhi University in 2006 and was awarded a Ph.D. in International Relations from the same university in 2017.
