University education and the impact of opportunity costs in the DRC

At a time when university studies are becoming more and more expensive in the DRC parents like their children are very demanding in the choice of training institutions where to enroll their offspring. Thus the question of the quality of education and the expected results is raised with agnity. The case compared by Eleuthère MUSIMA of the Universities of Kinshasa (UNIKIN) and the Catholic University of Congo (UCC) proves it sufficiently. The author demonstrates in the face of the statistical data examined that the cost of study influences respectively the success rate the failure rate and the dropout rate. As in Solow's model MUSIMA MUNGIE's work with its scientific and pedagogical scope circumscribes the contribution of human capital to economic growth in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The managers of the country's higher education system can draw inspiration from it with profit.
