The poor response of modern Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle (UAV) tail elevator to control signals from ground control stations causes significant problems to most unmanned flights. This non-linearities in aircraft pitch control flight route deviations and flight altitude variations due to harsh weather conditions such as shock waves/thunder storm and wind speed/direction during flight. Consequently this greatly affects the pitch of UAVs resulting in flight inefficiencies and possibly aircraft mishaps. In this book a UAV Pitch Controller that optimizes the pitch dynamics and tail elevator accuracy of an unmanned aircraft was designed and simulated. The results achieved show a great improvement in UAV pitch control performance.
