The objective of this book is to investigate the determinants of Unmet Need for family planning (UFN) among women aged 15-49. To achieve this objective two (02) methods of analysis were used: one descriptive and the other econometric. These analyses show that SNBs are important in Côte d''Ivoire and concern more the spacing than the limitation of births. Also we note a significant weight of SNBs in FP in the total demand for FP. The results of the multinomial logistic regression indicate that the level of economic well-being age marital status and parity achieved influence both spacing and limiting births. On the other hand some factors act in isolation on one or the other of the SNB. In this respect the place of residence appears to be a determinant of birth spacing SNLs. The ideal number of children desired as well as exposure to FP messages have an impact on birth control. Key words: Unmet need for family planning.
