John Milton's ode Upon the Circumcision was presumably written in 1633 and was first printed in 1645. It talks about the Christ's Circumcision Feast and ties the Incarnation to the Crucifixion. They were written at a time when Milton was heavily influenced by Scripture but still relied on myth. They were created during a time when Milton was experimenting with genre and subject matter.
