Urban Geography The Central Business District:A Study of Jammu City

This book is about one of the most important concepts in the field of Urban Geography i.e. The Central Business district (CBD). Usually the Central Business District (CBD) is the heart of the city where there is the maximum concentration of retail shops Peak Land Value is high and where the day time population is at its maximum. All these characteristics of the Central Business District (CBD) are mostly confined to the Old city of that particular city. Hence old city might be considered as the Central Business District (CBD). The core of the book lies on the Central Business District of Jammu City- Its Growth and Dimensions (1950- 2011). Presently the old city constitutes the Central Business District (CBD) where most of the activities relating to Trade Commerce Government Work Centers and Education Health and Recreational facilities are concentrated and further growing rapidly in this area.
