<p>In Urdu poetry humor and satire have a long history. However the significance it gained from the Awadh Punch era to the present day is such that earlier poetry hardly ever contains its glimpses. The satirical and humorous aspect of Urdu poetry began to take shape during the Awadh Punch era and since then it has never experienced any decline in quality.
