About The Book

Dietary supplementation of parsley fenugreek anise seeds and their mixture resulted in positive effects on growing rabbits and also they had a beneficial effect on blood lipid regulation which was demonstrated to be ascribed to their antioxidant activity and on lipid peroxide and the anti-oxidative status of rabbits. Also inclusion of 0.6 % parsley seeds in the diet could significantly improve sperm production and qualities in mature male rabbits. This study may be the first on anise seeds and the second on fenugreek seeds to have examined thoroughly the relation between fenugreek and anise seeds on sperm quality and testosterone hormonal disturbance on male rabbits. These results support the claim that 0.6 % level of fenugreek or anise seeds intake cause testicular damage and hormonal disturbance. Due to the wide use and easy availability of herbal medicines further research should be conducted to ensure the safety and quality of herbal medicine.
