Using high fidelity simulation to teach Postpartum Haemorrhage

Postpartum haemorrhage is a major cause of maternal deaths in South Africa yet it can be avoided. One of the contributing factors is that health care workers are doing too little too late. High fidelity human patient simulators offers students the opportunity to learn in an almost real like situation. There are many benefits of using high fidelity to teach obstetric emergencies. The aim is to identify and treat emergencies in a simulated environment before encountering it in a real life situation. This book is based on how high fidelity human patient simulators can be used to teach student midwives how to manage postpartum haemorrhage effectively.
