Valuation of community based wetland in Tripura: A case study

Wetlands are having significant role in the livelihoods of ethnic communities and their involvement can be effective tool for establishing an ecologically balanced use of available wetland resources. The case study in Kalyanthakur para lake provides some ideas about participation of “Tripuri” community in wetland conservation and management. This lake provide various services for the well being of community people. This kind of conservation and management strategies can be adopted for the conservation of other wetlands.
