Na. Parthasarathy (18 December 1932 – 13 December 1987) was a prominent Tamil historical novelist and journalist from Tamil Nadu India. He is best known for his novel Samudhaya Veedhi which won the Sahitya Akademi Award for Tamil in 1971. Parthasarathy began his career as a journalist working for various publications such as Kalki Dina Mani Kadhir. He later started his own magazine called Deepam which earned him the nickname Deepam Parthasarathy. He was also known for publishing under various pen names like Theeran Aravindan Manivannan Ponmudi Valavan Kadalazhagan Ilampooranan and Sengulam Veerasinga Kavirayar. Throughout his career Na. Parthasarathy was known for his historical novels that were rich in detail and character development. His ability to weave real historical events into his fiction made his novels a favorite among readers. He passed away on December 13 1987 but his works continue to be read and celebrated today.
