<p>First published in 1987 this book presents contributions from international authorities reviewing major themes in variant sexuality. Genetic and evolutionary arguments are presented for the preponderance of paraphilia in males whilst Freudian and psychoanalytic theories are shown to have limited scientific basis. These and other topics are reviewed in an interesting book which will be of particular value to students of the psychology of sexuality evolutionary biology and psychiatry as well as those with a more general interest in the social behavioural and biological aspects of sexuality.</p>
