Vegetable Crop Cultivation with Recycling Aquaponic Systems
English

About The Book

Aquaponics combines aquaculture (fish farming) and hydroponics (growing plants in water saturated media). Aquaponics may provide a source of relief for areas without suitable soil or lack of rainfall. The goal is to determine whether or not aquaponic agriculture is advantageous to traditional agriculture in certain niches of industrial food production particularly areas where environmental impact as well as reliable supply of water is an issue. The research aims to find out the real time potential of aquaponic system in raising vegetable crops. Furthermore it will examine the efficacy of aquaponics in terms of plant production and overall product quality. This was done through a comparative analysis between two fish species Carp and Gold fish. The results justified that aquaponics can be used as a potential alternative to traditional agriculture.
