Along the walls of the nave of practically all Catholic Churches are 14 carvings pictures or other form of depiction of 14 events singled out for contemplation of the Passion of Christ. These artistic representations are referred to as the stations of the cross and the devotion of praying the stations is called the Way of the Cross or by its Latin name of Via Crucis (or Via Dolorosa).The Way of the Cross of this book includes the method composed by St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226).
