Bhut Jolokia was found to be infected by viral disease complex caused by four viruses viz. Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) Potato virus Y (PVY) Groundnut Bud Necrosis Virus (GBNV) and Chilli leaf curl virus (ChLCV). The incidence and detection of the viruses were carried out on the basis of symptomatology insect vector DAS-ELISA and PCR. An integrated approach was adopted in order to manage the disease complex which included various treatments like seed treatments nursery and main field treatments in different combinations.
