Virginia Woolf first met Vita Sackville-West a renowned author aristocrat and sapphist at a dinner party in 1922. Although Virginia didn't think much of Vita's discourse she expressed admiration for her legs in her diary. It would mark the beginning of almost 20 years of friendship flirtation and literary collaboration.
