Vision Zero

About the Book: The book will provide the context and background of vision zero strategy by discussing the best practices across the globe. It will review the existing road safety policies and explores different strategies opted to achieve the vision zero. The book will act as a comprehensive guide for different stakeholders to help them in achieving zero accidents and deaths by discussing different strategies that are used in developed and developing nations. The model has been implemented in some of the Indian states and has shown a positive result in reducing the severity of road accidents, but still India has a long rope to cover and to achieve a desirable output from Vision zero. Through this book a comprehensive methodology can be framed for developing countries like India focusing on “what to achieve” and “how to achieve. About the Author: Shruti Dubey is an assistant professor in urban planning department of Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, India. She has completed master’s in planning (transport planning and logistics management) from prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, India. She was awarded gold medal for the same. She completed her B.Arch. from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana. She have keen interest in the field of public transportation, transportation policy and traffic safety. Manpreet Singh Saini is head of the urban planning department in Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, India. He is currently pursuing PhD in road safety from Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, India. He completed his M.Tech in urban planning from GNDU, Amritsar and B.Tech in civil engineering from Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar . He have 8+ years experience in academics with keen interest in the field of road safety and traffic engineering.
