After his assassination in 1252 Peter of Verona was rapidly proclaimed a martyr and his&nbsp;</span><em style=color: rgba(50 49 48 1)>Vita</em><span style=color: rgba(50 49 48 1)>&nbsp;testifies to the far-reaching extension of his cult spreading out from Italy and Southern France to reach western Iberia and Ireland as is attested by the miracles attributed to his intercession.
