Lutheran Bible scholar, Joseph Seiss, guides the reader through the Book of Daniel, while explaining the ethos of ancient Babylon: its culture, civilization, and royalty. Daniel, a Hebrew exiled at Babylon, was a servant of King Nebuchadnezzar, who esteemed Daniel’s insight and advice. Seiss weaves a history along with a prophecy of end times with the theme that the God of Israel, who has preserved Daniel from disasters and death, would save and restore all Israel from present and future oppression. Seiss goes on the elucidate upon the spiritual meaning of the visions and prophecies which took place in Babylon. The author also surveys other applicable parts of the Bible in order to clarify the events experienced by the prophet Daniel. Illustrations have been added to this edition.
