Voices of Color

<p><em>Voices of Color: Original Writings Rooted in Authentic Experience</em> is an anthology of powerful personal narratives from young adults of color. Written over a span of twenty five years the collection provides insight into the world as they experience it described in their own words and on their own terms. <br /><br />The selections are by turns joyous heart-wrenching wise sassy humorous hopeless hopeful tragic and triumphant. They address timeless issues of respect and justice and personal experiences of love loss and aspiration. They shed light on the often underrepresented voices of those too often subjected to stereotyping or victimized by misinformed assumptions. Bauman Ph.D.</strong> earned her doctorate degree in elementary education from Florida State University and her master’s degree in education with emphasis in curriculum and instruction from Florida Atlantic University. Most recently she served as an associate professor of elementary education at Florida A&M University where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in language arts for teachers curriculum and instruction theory and practice of teaching and more. Dr. Bauman is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English the International Reading Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.</p>
