VOLO or The WILL

The will sees only the object to be attained. It lives in the present deals with the present. When the object desired is within reach like an arrow it flies to its mark. When the object cannot be directly and swiftly attained the will directs upon it wave after wave till at last it corrodes the strong buttress. The wonders ascribed to magic -- by this term I do not mean ordinary conjuring -- are the manifestations of disciplined will. The will is infinite and the germs are imbedded in every human being. This is Volume 3 of Arthur Lovell's monumental Ars Vivendi series The Art of Living. Lovell was a founding member of the Vril-ya Club a turn-of-the-century society whose members sought to cultivate and master the mysterious energy of Vril.
