Voyages of Childhood

The book consists of three parts. Part I – It looks at English children’s literature to examine transformation of characters in fantasy stories and the real world as well as cultural adaptations in travels between postwar and postmodern times. Part II – It examines Japanese animations and Chinese children’s stories to explore issues of child development environmentalism translation globalization and localization for an international readership. Part III – It takes readers to travel with Australian and New Zealand authors to discover children’s rights dual heritage gender roles identity reconciliations with nature and cultures.
