About The Book
Description
Author
Angie and her search dogs, Mo and Jerri, have been sent to the North Dakota Badlands (named “Makosika” or “Land Bad” by indigenous people who lived in the plains long before the white settlers arrived.) She searched for Corrine Reed who disappeared from a motel in Bowman, leaving behind two small children and her purse. Her mother convinced Angie to search in the Badlands North Unit. Her mother, a member of the Standing Rock Tribe, says the ancient spirits had told Corrine’s mother that she was in the Badlands. Soon after the FBI contacted Angie’s cousin, Jim Greene, who is the McKenzie County Sheriff. Angie searched for two weeks and found Corrine’s body resting in an arroyo about a mile and a half from the road. On her hand is a ring featuring the Thunderbird, a mythic symbol that is commonly used in Southwestern jewelry.
