Water management in coastal aquifers by simulation-optimization

Along with a detailed review of the state-of-the-art this book presents a novel scheme for simulation-optimization based on state-space surrogate modeling to solve coupled groundwater-agriculture problems in coastal aquifers including saline water intrusion and water table drawdown. It also presents an example management problem and its solution(s) based on the proposed scheme for a coastal aquifer.
