Have you ever taken the time to examine the smallest detail on a fallen leaf or the tiniest speck of color on a sitting butterfly? Jodi Sones uses her artist's eye to capture these details and share the beauty of nature. We would like to share some of her beautiful paintings with you here in this book. Enjoy!

“I paint from photos getting my references from jig-saw puzzles I used to play on FaceBook (Puzzles for Friends) and an on-line photo sharing sites (Photos for Artists and Paint My Photo) plus a few other photographers and some of my own photos. I find most of my inspiration through nature. I have not painted en plein air (in the open air) yet but maybe in my future. I use only primary colors when painting and those are Cobalt Blue Azo Yellow and Alizarin Crimson from M. Graham. I will use a bit of Chinese White at times but try to keep that at a bare minimum as I do favor preserving the white of the paper with masking fluid over Chinese White.”
