Dr. Jennette Reid Tandy (1889 - 1968) of Carrollton Kentucky and Vevay Indiana was an unusual person by her education her observation of culture both that of her home area circa 1930-1940's and of Hopi Indians in the American Southwest and her artistic skill in portraying aspects of those cultures in a complex weaving process using cotton six-strand floss. She was said to be one of the few in the United States to do portrait weaving. This book is both a celebration of Jennette Tands art and an enjoyable biographical image of the woman herself.
