<p>Eighty-year-old Eddie Walsh receives an email asking if he ever volunteered for something no one else wanted to do. He answers the question in one hundred words but then he thinks about a number of extraordinary occurrences that led to that opportunity to volunter. He starts writing about those and produces a novella length answer to the original question.</p>
