A potent medicine that can cure Alzheimer's disease is being developed. However the project is canceled for mysterious reasons. A scientist tries to find out why but he is confronted with cover-ups. Another scientist faces the dilemma of using animal models to create safe medicines while potentially inflicting inhumane treatment on them. Meanwhile one of the company executives whose main drive is money is running a parallel business in art theft. Some characters illegally get their hands on the medicine and the side effects drive them to find their true selves.
