What is a Democrat?

<p><em>What is a Democrat </em>reviews what the Democratic presidents have done and provides insight into the current election with Kamala Harris substituting for Joe Biden. There is a noticeable connection between the last few Democratic presidents dating back to Andrew Jackson and Buchanan but there have been significant changes in both the 20th and 21st centuries in attitudes and approaches. The question of America sliding into socialism is questioned and demonstrated. Posing as fighters for democracy the Democrat's actions in pursuing special interest groups belie that stance.</p><p>John Benedict believes that people should vote for a candidate who has both skills and experience for the most challenging job in America. That same candidate must be focused on America's success. Too often voting decisions are made emotionally for reasons of esthetics loyalty to a Party tradition or single interest resulting in the satisfaction of one's moral preference or financial benefit from the government. Those purposes do not make America better but allows mammoth problems that are catching up with this country promising a troubled future.</p>
