About The Book

This is a collection of essays by 12 Muslim writers explaining why the city of Jerusalem is important to each of them. Religious historical cultural architectural social and economic aspects of the city are described as well as personal experiences of living in or visiting Jerusalem. Prince El Hassan bin Talal of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan wrote the Foreword in the book. The book is the result of a partnership between the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation headquartered in the United States and the Royal Institute of Inter-Faith Studies located in Jordan.
