About The Book

Thirteen-year-old Frislin Destine stalks a skinny rooster through the hopeless and desol ate streets of Port au Paix Haiti. As the oldest son he feels responsible to provide for his family of six and the chicken would be a feast. When Chickens Have Teeth is a true-to-life novel for ages 8 - 12. Frislin's love for his family leads him to make a sacrificial decision. He accompanies Pastor Honorat to a children's home in a far-off city. He deals with his fear and homesickness for many days even as he learns to accept the friendship of the other children at the home. At last he begins to feel happiness and hope for the future. Until his archenemy Stefan arrives and Frislin must learn to pray for his enemy as Jesus commanded. This story of hope in a country known mostly for despair explores the topic of friendship and forgiveness. Christian homeschool families will enjoy the religious take-away and middle-graders will relate their empathy for Frislin and his friends to their own struggles with personal relationships.
