<p>Hope can be paralyzing.</p><p>Ten years after her father's death crime journalist Kylie Lewis wants to believe her father is really gone when everyone around her insists on it. But when she sees a man resembling her father out in public hope begins to creep in sending the journalist on a mission to find the truth.</p><p>Mysterious murders all linked by the same modus operandi crop up around Midtown. Assigned to report on these crimes Kylie finds something vaguely familiar about them. Determined to succeed in her field she searches for everything she can about the new serial killer plaguing the city: The Manhattan Butcher.</p><p>Her search comes to a screeching halt when a man who claims to know her father attacks her. After nearly dying on the operating table Kylie struggles to cope with the trauma of her attack.
