Where Women Rule: South Asia

The book deals with contemporary role of political leadership of women in South Asia. In view of the changing role of women leaders and the challenges they confront it makes such a study not only fill in a gap but it may actually contribute to the restoration of democracy the democratization process and development in new and emerging South Asia. Democratic values are not new in our region. What is new and complex is the issue of governance and efficient modern administration which allows accountability and transparency within the system hopefully freeing it from corruption and nepotism. If such a road map leading to democracy prosperity and human development based on human rights is to be built an honest understanding of the role of female political leadership is very important.
