Inspired by true events as told to author Stephen L. Wood by elders in both First American and white communities White Arrow: Half-Breed is a passionate novel about the prejudice First Americans have endured from both their white neighbors and the US government particularly during white expansion into the American West. To tell White Arrows story Wood chose a main character with both white and First American heritage. This perspective plus his years of formal school study gives White Arrows protagonist the advantage of understanding the ways of many people--and the ability to change history from a track of bitter hate to one of cooperation and respect.
