About The Book

A photo collection in full color of zinc cemetery markers in the Chicagoland area. They were manufactured by the Monumental Bronze Company in Bridgeport CT and their subsidiaries in the U.S. and Canada between 1875 and 1912. Marketed as superior to stone in terms of durability the products were referred to as white bronze. They were cast from 99% pure zinc and were rust resistant. Rare in the Chicago area this is a collection of original full-color photographs of these remarkable powder-blue monuments.
