The story is about a group of children who are playing a game of hide-and-seek. One of the children Polly is hiding in a closet when she hears someone speak. She doesn't know who spoke but she is scared.Polly calls out to the person but no one answers. She waits for a long time but she doesn't hear anything else. Finally she decides to come out of the closet.When Polly comes out of the closet she sees that the other children are all gone. She is alone in the house. She starts to feel scared again. She calls out to her mother but her mother doesn't answer.Polly runs outside and into the street. She sees her mother coming down the street. She runs to her mother and tells her what happened. Her mother tells her that she was just imagining things.Who Spoke Next is a suspenseful story that is sure to keep children on the edge of their seats.
