About The Book

This book is about the constant power struggle between Politics and Education played in a metaphorical football game that has been detrimental to any progress being made to solve the nations problems in education. However is the tide changing! I say that it is not out of sentiment for the plight of the public school teacher or support personnel but out of necessity. The nation is panicking because of the imminent teacher and support shortages all across the country have caused the politicians to react whether they want to or not; and the decisions they are making are not meeting the needs of our professional educators. I am talking about a process that has been in place for a long duration and does not work! The politicians have been winning this game using a political process established to make laws and control the purse strings of the educational budgets. What I question in the book are the motives of the politicians for enacting legislation that only coincides with their partys agenda and not really considering the impact they have made upon the lives of our children teachers administrators parents and support personnel. I describe these issues in detail in my book. I devote half the book to the support personnel in our schools the unsung heroes who have embattled the system with poor pay and not much recognition yet do their jobs everyday with passion and dedication. My mission in writing this book is for real meaningful political change to occur in education; both sides politics and education must stop the game playing if they ever want to achieve a win/win situation. I also write about systems thinking; and especially how both education and politics have forsaken this very important process in collaboration to meet this end. Who will win this game? Stay tuned.
