<p>The author grew up listening to stories told by his grandparents and aunts and uncles. They were ghost and Br'er Rabbit stories tall tales and legends about Indians and animals that could talk to each other.</p><p>He fell in love with legends and native stories of how things happened like why bats hang upside down and how the Apache people got fire. This book is about those two stories passed down orally from generations of Apache storytellers.</p><p>His stories may be slightly different but that happens every time a story is passed to another storyteller.</p><p>He hopes you enjoy these stories and they encourage you to find other wonderful native legends.
