Why I Still Believe in Jesus

At some point we all will suffer and die. How do you deal with this gruesome fact? There are thousands of belief systems proclaiming a way out of our pain and demise while others say no universal solution exists and we must deal with it as best as we can. So which option if any is a valid way to deal with suffering and loss? This study introduces a novel methodological approach to finding the best answer to this question employing three philosophically universal and independently validated criteria: logical consistency practical efficacy and moral coherence. To support the claim that faith in Jesus of Nazareth is--all at once--logically practically and morally superior to alternative scientific or religious solutions to evil suffering and death this work provides analysis of the following claims:1. The logical practical and moral superiority of biblical monotheism including in its claims of a divine figure and soteriological coherence contrasted with atheistic polytheistic and henotheistic alternatives which fail to offer a consistent foundation for eternal life.2. The logical practical and moral supremacy of Jesus' divinity and resurrection compared with other ancient or modern religious figures who claim divine status or resurrection.3. The logical and practical superiority of Christ's immutable/infinite essence from a philosophical and Scriptural perspective.4. The moral superiority of Jesus' teachings and deeds providing evidence of His willingness and suitability to save.5. The logical superiority of the Gospels and Acts as historically reliable records of one believed to be God-in-the-flesh come down to save humanity reinforced by undesigned coincidences corroborative testimony optimal temporal propinquity and textual transmission.6. A survey of the transmission and preservation of the New Testament.7. The causality between the resurrection and biblical/extra-biblical data supporting the historical and logical reliability of the New Testament and8. The necessity of the inner workings of the Christian eschaton.There is something in here for everyone--students teachers pastors or skeptics.
