This work is the story of the remarkable African American leader who led the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles in 1906 and is credited for launching the twentieth-century American Pentecostal movement and several denominations. Blind in one eye yet in possession of remarkable spiritual vision few believers are aware of Seymour. The son of ex-slaves was passionate about racial reconciliation and his desire for unity in the body of Christ has much to say to Pentecostal movement and the entire church.
