A marvellous addition to a series of well-written skilful books Wind sand and stars is a memoir by the decorated polymath Antoine de Saint Exupery- a skilful author and a pioneering aviator. While talking about the dangers grandeurs and isolation of flight Exupery talks about his flight experiences through a screen of lyrical prowess and philosophical ideology. The events described makes for an immersive reading experience leaving the reader with a hazy memory of Exupery’s personal travels as he travels the continents from France to Africa as a mail delivery pilot along with a few other pilots. The entire experience is a breathtaking thrilling event into the dangers of the route that Antoine takes along with two colleagues that he admires- Mermoz who teaches Exupery how to land on unlit airstrips and Guillaumet who is highly competent and meticulous.
