Adam Kindred was the sole survivor of a German ambush near the Marne in 1918. He held his dying buddy Arthur BB Strayhorn Jr. in his arms as he screamed for his mother. Four years later Adam is the pastor of a rural Kentucky church. The sounds of battle are gone but the nightmares of that dreadful day remain.
