With the Medieval Mystery Plays religious drama left the churches and took to the streets involving whole communities. But when playwright Michael Yates decided to write a modern version he knew he could never compete with CGI - no massive crowds no huge cast. So he wrote an audio version for a small group of actors to play many parts. And here it is. The material is presented as a parody of radio: the studio debate the phone-in the daily soap opera and the fireside chat - with God doing the chatting. The language is modern prose with a hint of a Yorkshire accent - but then we all knew God was a Yorkshireman didn't we?
