Wish

Wish is the story of a troubled young man a rootless city-dweller with no knowledge of nature or the countryside who finds himself locked away in the fastness of a remote valley among the mountains and hills of central Wales. Here working alongside a stranger from a very different background Alver becomes absorbed in the world of a pair and eventually a family of falcons. As the seasons roll one into the next absorption spirals into obsession and his inner life slowly merges with the daily pattern of hunting killing vigilance and loyalty he witnesses from the hillside. Alver becomes aware of something approaching an unsettling presence he encountered once before and has never been able to comprehend. An identity is taking shape an impossible hybrid.
