English

About The Book

The present work is an out come of the urge to reach out and explore the inner recesses of personal and employed professional lives of highly technically qualified women. The subject of the study emerged from a practical revelation to the variety of problems and conflicts encountered by women both in domestic and job front. The problem will examined in this study is the social origin and familiar adjustment of women in modern occupations such as teaching medical engineering legal administration journalism and IT profession. The basic assumption is that educational achievement of women and their entrance into modern occupation like Information and Communication Technology is largely a reflection of the socio-economic status of families to which these women belong. Therefore the present study will attempt to correlate the socio-economic status of the women's family with their educational achievement and with their recruitment in ICT sector.
