About The Book

This book contains a collection of 25 interviews with women founders of groundbreaking human rights organizations and key organizers of history making protest movements. This work is both a celebration of these women and their work but also meant to inform and instruct as a Call to Action. These discussions outline the women's lives the history of their organizations and their achievements and a recalling of these important movements from the frontlines acting as a guidebook to civil disobedience and nonviolent direct action. This book focuses on a diverse number of subjects on how to empower ourselves and those around us through knowledge and action to create an equal and just society on personal community and legislative levels.
