Women's Identity and Representation in History & Literature

About the Book: Society or individuals relies on their historical text and literature to explore and understand the question and representation of their identity. The growing interest of women in the question of historical consciousness has led to the research of their past. Literature and Historical texts are the two main sources which can decipher the question of women's identity and representation over time. Historical texts give evidence-based knowledge of women's representation through the ages while on the other side literature is the mirror of society and with its fictional narrations, it represents some of the crucial traits of their contemporary time. This book is a contribution in this direction to add an alternate perspective to historical reading and traditional literature as well as suggestions for expanding the canon to include more gender-sensitive works. About the Author: "Dr. Rafraf Shakil Ansari Assistant Professor (English) School of Humanities & Social Sciences Sharda University Dr. Rafraf Shakeel is an Assistant Professor (English) at the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Sharda University. Dr. Rafraf Shakil has done her Ph.D. in American Literature. She has qualified UGC NET in English Literature and has over 13 years of total teaching experience. She has published research papers in National and International Journals and frequent presenter at national and international conferences. Her areas of interest include feminist writings, American Literature, Indian Literature, and New Literature. She has done B and C certificate courses of NCC won various prizes and got selected in TSC(Thal Sena Camp).
